STEPS IN PREPARATION TO EXPORT
Step 1: Register with the Jamaica Single Window for Trade (JSWIFT)
To apply for permits, licenses, and certifications from Government Agencies and Border Regulatory Agencies, register on the Jamaica Single Window for Trade (JSWIFT) platform. Visit www.jswift.gov.jm to begin the process:
- Apply for Authorisations: Submit applications for all required permits, licenses and certifications from the Competent Authority via JSWIFT or directly to the Competent Authority if not yet integrated with JSWIFT.
- Site Visits (if necessary): The agency may schedule and conduct site visits as part of their evaluation process.
- Issuance of Authorization: The agency will issue the necessary authorizations once approved.
- Apply for Follow-On Authorisations: Obtain any additional required authorisations as necessary for your exports.
Apply for the necessary licenses, permits, and certifications at the following Agencies:
- Trade Board Ltd
- Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining
- Coffee Industry Board
- Coconut Industry Board
- National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA)
- Bureau of Standards (BSJ)
- Cannabis Licensing Authority (CLA)
- Ministry of Health and Wellness

Step 2: Register for ASYCUDA World
Before exporting goods in commercial quantities, individuals and companies must register as an Exporter using the ASYCUDA World platform. The platform is accessible through the Jamaica Customs Agency (JCA) website . The registration process includes three key steps:
- Create Your ASYCUDA World E-Services Account on the ASYCUDA platform.
- Complete and Submit Your Exporter Registration Application Form
- Submit Your Exporter Registration Fee Payment Online
Step 3: Execution
After registering as an exporter and obtaining all necessary licenses, permits, and certifications, follow these steps to complete the export process through ASYCUDA:
- Log in to ASYCUDA: Access the ASYCUDA system to begin the export process.
- Prepare and Submit Export Declaration: The exporter or their authorized agent must prepare the Export Declaration and submit it to the Jamaica Customs Agency (JCA).
- Complete Required Payments: Ensure that all applicable fees and charges are paid as part of the export process.
- Arrange Necessary Inspections: Coordinate any required inspections by relevant authorities to ensure compliance with export regulations.
- Proceed with Shipment: Once all previous steps are completed and approved, proceed with the shipment of goods.
